Automatically sync Jamf Pro device inventory with Xurrent CMDB.

Jamf Pro – Xurrent CMDB Integration

Xurrent integrates with Jamf Pro to synchronize managed device information into the Xurrent Configuration Management Database (CMDB). The integration retrieves computer and mobile device information from Jamf Pro and automatically creates or updates the corresponding Configuration Items (CIs) in Xurrent.

Key Capabilities

  • Computer Synchronization: Synchronize computer inventory from Jamf Pro to Xurrent.
  • Mobile Device Synchronization: Synchronize mobile device inventory from Jamf Pro to Xurrent.
  • Automated CI Management: Automatically create or update Configuration Items in Xurrent based on device information.
  • Personal Device Exclusion: Exclude personal devices from synchronization.
  • Full Resynchronization: Perform a full synchronization when required.
  • Stale Device Management: Configure how stale devices are handled.
  • Synchronization Results: Review synchronization statistics, including devices found, CIs created or updated, and errors.
  • Scheduled Synchronization: Automatically synchronize device information daily to help keep the CMDB up to date.

How It Works

  1. Create an API Client in Jamf Pro.
  2. Assign the required read privileges to its API role.
  3. Configure the Jamf Pro connection in Xurrent.
  4. Select the device types to synchronize.
  5. Xurrent retrieves the selected device information from Jamf Pro.
  6. Xurrent creates or updates the corresponding Configuration Items in the CMDB.
  7. Scheduled synchronization keeps device information up to date.

Before You Start

Before configuring the integration, create an API Client in Jamf Pro under Settings → System → API Roles and Clients.

Assign an API role to the client with all three of the following privileges:

  • Read Computers
  • Read Mobile Devices
  • Read Sites

Important: All three privileges are required for synchronization. Without the Read Sites privilege, synchronization fails with a 403 error that does not explicitly identify the missing privilege.

Getting Started

Install the Jamf integration from the Xurrent App Store and configure the Jamf Pro API Client with the required privileges.
